Lighthouse

“Lighthouse” is our first name.  A lighthouse provides a beam that drives out the darkness.  Its beacon shines to reveal the way. God has driven out the darkness and has shown us the way home in the person of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus said,

“I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.”   John 8:12

and,

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me”   John 14:6

A secure and stable lighthouse is built upon solid rock.  Lighthouse Bible Church stands on the rock that is Christ.  Faith in Him is the rock upon which His church stands.

Jesus said,

“Upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it.”   Matthew 16:18

and,

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock.”   Matthew 7:24

Bible

“Bible” is our middle name.  The Holy Scriptures have come to us from God and are central to everything we are and everything we do.

Peter said,

“But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”   2 Peter 1:20-21

Paul said,

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”   2 Timothy 3:16-17

Church

“Church” is our last name.  The word church comes from the Greek and means, “to call out of.”  God’s people have been called out of this world and are the body of Christ.

Paul said,

“Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.”   1 Corinthians 12:27
and,

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.”   Colossians 3:15
